InDepth Water Management was tasked with conducting a full structural inspection and executing necessary repairs on internal and external walls, floors, and the roof of a critical reservoir cell. The project required precise material selection and methodical application to ensure long-term structural integrity and waterproofing. Findings from the inspection indicated the need for targeted repairs using specialised materials, including Sika products, to reinforce structural stability and prevent water ingress.
Inspection Highlights:
A comprehensive inspection was carried out, covering:
- Internal walls, floors, and external walls to assess necessary repairs.
- Roof assessment to identify cracks and potential leak points.
- Evaluation of all internal wall joints and cracks requiring sealing and treatment.
- The cell had to be fully drained before anywork commenced to ensure a safe and effective application environment.
Solution:
Internal Repairs:
- All wall joints and cracks were repaire dusing Sika Combiflex.
- The entire internal area was treated with Sika 6100-FX to enhance waterproofing.
External Repairs:
- Cracks and joints were thoroughly cleaned before repair.
- Small cracks/joints were filled using Sika 1K, while larger ones required Sika 4012.
Roof Repairs:
- Small cracks were treated with Sika 1K.
- A significant crack, identified as a potential water ingress point, was sealed with Sikadur-31 DW to prevent leakage into the containment cell.
Additional Considerations:
- A return visit was scheduled to apply an additional coat on the back wall afterdrying.
- A heater was required to accelerate the drying process.

Project Success
A dedicated team of operatives, equipped with full confined space gear and a clean water jetting van, ensured the successful execution of the project.
A Jet Vac truck with a separate water tank was utilised for efficient cleaning and waste management. The targeted repairs and waterproofing applications significantly enhanced the structural integrity of the containment cell, ensuring long-term durability and leak prevention.
By implementing a structured approach with industry-leading materials, InDepth Water Management delivered a robust solution reinforcing the client’s infrastructure against future damage and environmental factors.
